Rehearsal will be at the law offices of

11 South Meridian St , Indianapolis IN

On the day of the event, enter through the main entrance on Meridian Street.  A security goard will direct you to the rehearsal location.

After rehearsal, participants are responsible to walk one block to the west to the Artsgarden, which is indicated as "AG" on the map below. Take all your possessions with you because we will not return to Barnes and Thurnburg after the event.

See the parking advisory.

On the day of Jingle Bones 2019, the Santa Hustle race will be active downtown.  There are two races (a 5K and half-marathon) that could complicate your arrival.  Please review the course maps:

From the maps, it looks like everything is northwest.  N. Illinois St. might be closed, but N. Pennsylvania St. and E. Washington St are both open.  So, please plan to approach the ArtsGarden from the East or South, not West or North.

The 5K should be over long before our registration time (11:00 AM).  The half-marathon should have cleared the immediate area of the Artsgarden and Barnes and Thornburg by registration time, but some congestion might remain.

If you are delayed, don't worry.   It will all work out.

Parking can be an issue at these events. However, in 2019, none of our events conflict with Colts home games, so we do not anticipate any parking difficulties. Here are several options:

  • Street parking is generally free on Sunday if you can find a space.
  • The Circle Center Mall garage is most convenient. Normal rates should be in effect, $8.00 for 4- 5 hours.
  • You can park at the Claypool (northwest corner of Washington and Illinois) at their normal rates which will be about $15 for the day. This is the garage that serves the Embassy Suites.

2020 Holiday Programs Canceled

For two decades, the Phillips Music Guild has presented several programs each December, including Jingle Bones, Saxy Santas, and Tinsel Trumpets.  These events present an opportunity for instrumentalists of all ages to network, enjoy seasonal music, and learn from eminent conductors and advanced players.  The format for these programs has been an intense rehearsal followed by a public performance later the same day.

We have been watching the COVID-19 developments closely, and have decided in conjunction with the Arts Council of Indianapolis, that events of this nature cannot be presented with the level of safety both organizations require.  We have made the decision to not present these programs in 2020.

We have considered several other alternatives such as virtual concerts and concluded such formats do not align with our organization mission.  Therefore we will not produce any events in the 2020 holiday season.  We hope to find the COVID-19 threat level greatly reduced in 2021 and look forward to resuming these events.
